The Man & the Satyr

A man was walking in the forest on a cold winter day.

Pewien człowiek szedł przez las w mroźny zimowy dzień.

He met a satyr who lived in the woods.

Spotkał satyra, który mieszkał w lesie.

"Come to my home," said the satyr.

„Chodź do mojego domu” — powiedział satyr.

"You can warm up there."

„Możesz się tam ogrzać.”

The man was very cold.

Człowiekowi było bardzo zimno.

His hands were freezing.

Ręce mu marzły.

He put his hands near his mouth and blew on them.

Przyłożył dłonie do ust i dmuchnął na nie.

"Why do you do that?" asked the satyr.

„Dlaczego tak robisz?” — zapytał satyr.

"I blow on my hands to make them warm," said the man.

„Dmucham na ręce, żeby je ogrzać” — odpowiedział człowiek.

They went to the satyr's home.

Poszli do domu satyra.

The satyr gave the man hot soup.

Satyr podał człowiekowi gorącą zupę.

The soup was very hot.

Zupa była bardzo gorąca.

The man blew on the soup to cool it down.

Człowiek dmuchnął na zupę, żeby ją ostudzić.

The satyr saw this and became angry.

Satyr to zobaczył i rozzłościł się.

"Go away!" said the satyr.

„Idź stąd!” — powiedział satyr.

"First you blow to make things hot.

„Najpierw dmuchasz, żeby coś było ciepłe.

Then you blow to make things cold.

Potem dmuchasz, żeby coś było zimne.

I cannot trust someone who does two different things with the same breath!" The satyr pushed the man out of his home.

Nie mogę ufać komuś, kto tym samym oddechem robi dwie różne rzeczy!” Satyr wypchnął człowieka ze swojego domu.

The man had to walk back into the cold forest alone.

Człowiek musiał wrócić sam do zimnego lasu.
