De Jongen & de Hazelnoten
A hungry boy discovers a jar full of delicious nuts and reaches inside to grab as many as he can. But when he tries to pull his hand out, he faces an unexpected problem that teaches him an important lesson.
A boy saw a jar full of nuts.
Een jongen zag een pot vol noten.
The jar had a small opening at the top.
De pot had een kleine opening aan de bovenkant.
The boy put his hand inside the jar.
De jongen stak zijn hand in de pot.
He grabbed as many nuts as he could hold.
Hij greep zoveel noten als hij kon vasthouden.
Now his hand was full of nuts.
Nu zat zijn hand vol noten.
But his hand was too big to come out of the jar.
Maar zijn hand was te groot om uit de pot te komen.
The boy tried to pull his hand out.
De jongen probeerde zijn hand eruit te trekken.
He could not do it.
Het lukte hem niet.
His hand was stuck.
Zijn hand zat vast.
The boy started to cry.
De jongen begon te huilen.
He wanted the nuts, but he also wanted his hand free.
Hij wilde de noten, maar hij wilde ook zijn hand vrij hebben.
An old man walked by.
Een oude man liep voorbij.
He saw the boy crying.
Hij zag de jongen huilen.
"What is wrong?"
"Wat is er mis?"
asked the old man.
vroeg de oude man.
"My hand is stuck in this jar,"
"Mijn hand zit vast in deze pot,"
said the boy.
zei de jongen.
The old man looked at the jar.
De oude man keek naar de pot.
He looked at the boy's hand.
Hij keek naar de hand van de jongen.
"Let go of half the nuts,"
"Laat de helft van de noten los,"
said the old man.
zei de oude man.
"Then your hand will come out."
"Dan zal je hand eruit komen."
The boy did not want to let go of the nuts.
De jongen wilde de noten niet loslaten.
But finally, he dropped half of them.
Maar uiteindelijk liet hij de helft vallen.
His hand became smaller.
Zijn hand werd kleiner.
Now he could pull his hand out of the jar.
Nu kon hij zijn hand uit de pot trekken.
The boy was free.
De jongen was vrij.
He still had some nuts to eat.
Hij had nog wat noten om te eten.
