A hungry boy discovers a jar full of delicious nuts and reaches inside to grab as many as he can. But when he tries to pull his hand out, he faces an unexpected problem that teaches him an important lesson.
A boy saw a jar full of nuts.
Un niño vio un frasco lleno de nueces.
The jar had a small opening at the top.
La vasija tenía una pequeña abertura en la parte superior.
The boy put his hand inside the jar.
El niño metió la mano dentro del frasco.
He grabbed as many nuts as he could hold.
Agarró tantas nueces como pudo sostener.
Now his hand was full of nuts.
Ahora su mano estaba llena de nueces.
But his hand was too big to come out of the jar.

The boy tried to pull his hand out.

He could not do it.

His hand was stuck.

The boy started to cry.

He wanted the nuts, but he also wanted his hand free.

An old man walked by.

He saw the boy crying.

"What is wrong?"

said the boy.

The old man looked at the jar.

He looked at the boy's hand.

"Let go of half the nuts,"
"Suelta la mitad de las nueces,"
said the old man.

"Then your hand will come out."
"Entonces tu mano saldrá."
The boy did not want to let go of the nuts.
El niño no quería soltar las nueces.
But finally, he dropped half of them.
Pero finalmente, soltó la mitad de ellas.
His hand became smaller.
Su mano se volvió más pequeña.
Now he could pull his hand out of the jar.
Ahora podía sacar la mano del frasco.
The boy was free.
El niño era libre.
He still had some nuts to eat.
